2002 F-250 4x4 problems

2002 F-250 4x4 problems
Have a 2002 F-250 CC Short Bed 4x4. The auto locking hubs aren't working, have to get out and manually lock them. When I put the electric switch on 4 HI, the 4x4 light on the instrument panel comes on, and the air conditioner starts to blow out of the defroster vents and no 4x4 until i get out and lock the hubs. What do I need to replace here? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to FTE, you indeed have a vacuum leak somewhere. It may be the seals in the hubs themselves, the lines from the frame to the hubs or somewhere up by the vacuum pump. The yellow seals in the hubs are hardest to check but they are replaceable. READ:Welcome to guzzle's 4x4 Needle Bearing Maintenance Web Page
The lines are easier to get too but takes more time to track down. I would check the lines in the wheel wells since they are prone to cracking the most.
