Yes, that should fit fine without rubbing.

I know that the factory offset on my 2001 f250 with the factory wheels is a +6

OK Thanks for the info.... I was told that was kinda pushing the envelope as far as tire size with a factory wheel...

A 285 would probably fit better on the 7" wide wheel and wouldn't cost you much height.

Any chance of me clearing 315/75r16 on 16x8s with 4.5 backspacing no offset? I have an f250 with a leveling kit. I clear 315/75r16 with minimal rubbing on leaf springs on factory rims.

What year? '04 and earlier are +6mm stock. I cleared 315/75r16s with a leveling kit and -6mm wheels. Zero offset would have worked as well. With -6mm wheels I was about 3/4" from the leaf springs at full lock.

My truck is a 2003, I think I've been confusing +/- offset. I think everyone should just use backspacing as a measurement it's sure easier for my brain to visualize. Did you have any caliper clearance issues with the slighting wider then stock wheels?

wow some of you guys really know your stuff. i just got done reading this whole thread hoping to find my answer. heres my questions.

1 i bought used rims from someone centerline 18 x 9 with 4.5 inch backspace, i was under the impression that this was a 0 offset rim?

2 i have a 2001 cc 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift. ( the body lift will be coming off in the future and be replaced with a 4 inch suspension lift) but for the mean time will 35 12.50 all terrains or the 305 70 tire fit without any rubs?

i have took measurements of the difference between the wheels and anywhere it might rub at full lock in both directions. and the clearance was around 1.5 to 2 inches at the closest points. with my current 305 70 16 toyo at.

anyway sorry for the long post but i have done all my home work but have not found a definate answer as to whether or not i will have any rub with my new 18's on the 35 12.5 tires????

Positive offset moves the wheel in, negative offset moves it out, measurement is in millimeters. Offset is really the way to compare wheels since it tells you where the wheel and tire centerline is, regardless of width.

9" wide with 4.5" backspace is about -12mm offset due to wheel bead width (add 1/2"). Should fit great with a 3-4" lift and those tires. You'll be about flush or 1/4" outside the fender edge with the tire edge and about 3/4" from the springs at full lock.

can i revive this ancient thread and get an answer for my situation?

i have a 2000 F250 Lariat 4x4 V10. I had the stock 16" rims
<a href="http://s284.photobucket.com/user/thewudd/media/tires_DSC_0050_zps148dbe48.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll40/thewudd/tires_DSC_0050_zps148dbe48.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo tires_DSC_0050_zps148dbe48.jpg"/></a>

and traded a guy for some of the five star 20" rims that had been powdercoated black that look like these.

<a href="http://s284.photobucket.com/user/thewudd/media/f250_zps333f4f99.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll40/thewudd/f250_zps333f4f99.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo f250_zps333f4f99.jpg"/></a>

i'm running the stock tires 275/65/20. they rub on the front when turning against the leaf springs and limit my already giant turning radius even more. i have stock suspension, and like the look of the height tires i have now. i'm guessing the offset is the issue. my plan is to get new tires and rims and i would like similar sizes although i may go down from 20s just for the cost savings. what offset will allow a similar size tire without rubbing? i'm not concerned if the tires stick out past the fenders. i'm hoping cartmanea is still around and can help me out.

tires rub

I have a 2002 f350 with a 4 inch lift and 2 inch wheel spacers. I have 33 12.50 20 tires. But they rub when I try and turn the wheel all the way. What due I need to due to stop them from rubbing.

What is it rubbing on?
What are the wheel offset?

I can not anwser you question without the above information. But it comes down to two things.

1.It's either rubbing the inner fender plastic and/or front bumper.

Wheels with too much negitive offset sweep to wide and hit the front bumper or inner plastic on the fenders. ( I'd get new wheels anyways because of your spacers). If you are rubbing the inner fender you can either lift it more or get new wheels with a different offset. (I like -12 for offset.) The other option if it rubs the front bumper is to shim it out a bit or trim it a little.

2. It's rubbing the leaf spring

If you are rubbing the leaf spring you need new wheels with a more aggressive offset or smaller tires.

Because you have a 2 inch wheel spacer the odds are you are under category number 1, and your wheels stick out too far from the fender for your lift (this is assuming your truck is a 4x4). This leads me to advise you to get new wheels based on my assumptions.
