Power Port

Can someone please tell me where the power port on the upper dash's fuse is located? I blew the fuse last winter and its been driving me crazy since.. Also, when using a plow light which port should I be using?

I tried the "cigar lighter" fuse and that must be for the lighter on the lower panel.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you

#4 in the Central Junction Box under the drivers side dash.

For future reference, you can download your Owner's Manual here...

It's possible. Or the wire came loose.

Did you test the fuse with a meter or test light?

I tested the fuse with a test light and it came back good on both sides. I took the dash apart and removed the power port and it appears to be slightly melted on the inside. I am going to stop at our local dealer and pick up a new one.. I must have damaged it with my plow light last year.

Just out of curiousity which plug should I be using for a plow light, the top power port or the lower cigar lighter? Thank you

The Owner's manual says to use the power point for any power accessories.

It seems odd that the power point would actually melt before blowing the fuse. There must've been a pretty good load on it.

You might want to think about hard wiring your plow lights directly off of the battery with an inline fuse.

I think the actual plow light I was using must have a short in it. I have had it for a couple years and it did the same thing to my last truck. I tried re-wiring the light with a new cord several times and nothing works.. I installed strobes in the truck this summer and I plan to use them in addition to a new LED plow roof top light so this dosent happen again.

I am going to the dealer to order a new one tomorrow and I will keep this thread updated if it solves the problem.

Thank you and I appreciate your help.
