Anybody have a Sears Code Reader? I tried the Record Live Data thing and now I can't clear the data, the present code, the MIL in the truck. Read the manual front to back, took the batteries out, took the back off to look for a reset pin hole; still comes up with live data when turned on and not able to execute Erase function.
Help!
In case anyone was wondering, I got back to this and for some unknown reason I blew the 12v accessory fuse that also runs the code reader port.
Dumb problem solved
Ron, I have a Sears code reader also which hasn't given me any troubles except, after I erase codes the screen says that it was unable to erase codes but the codes are actually gone (erased).
Also there is a patch cord included, I suppose to attach to a computer, but my computer has no such plugin on the back. Do I have to buy an adapter?
I would like to access the info on line.

I looked into an adaptor for that cable. Apparently pretty common. Price varies significantly though and I never finished researching to understand why, but Tiger Direct is a pretty decent and never had problems with them.
I would think we could just shoot for the plug in adaptor that has no cable, not sure why we'd need another cable attached to the end of our cable out of the hand held unit. $13
You should be able to pick it up locally from an electronics store. USB Serial Cables at TigerDirect.com
Oh ya, and it turns out my fuse in the truck blew and that's why I couldn't clear my codes. No idea when or why that happened, but apparently on the same circuit as the 12v accessory plug in
ive had a similiar problem with my code reader acting weird and it was a blown acc fuse
Yep a very common problem. The dealer told me Ford put out a bulletin to charge for a fuse if it's blown when the hook up to the OBDII - apparently cell phone chargers are the main culprit.
