I have a 352 in mine so I'm not sure if we would be using the same one. I went to o really auto parts web site and it tells you which one you need. An aside, when I installed mine at first I couldn't get it to work and later found out that the magnetic pickup was sitting too low on the distribute and the engine wouldn't start. I had a heck of a time with it at first but soon realized that a rubber o ring did wonders..
Gotcha. Well, O'reilly gave me the wrong part number (I told them I had a 240 and they gave me a number for an 8 cyl). I found a guy in town who sells 'em and they found the right part #. (1261 is for 6 cyl 1281 for 8 cyl, add a 9 to the front of that number and it's the Ignitor II.)
I like blaming my typing errors on the machine too. ;-)
I can definitely say that the electronic ignition is better... petronix is good..
I ran a GM HEI conversion on my 5.0 (302) one wire hook up... tach output.. high output and it was only about 150 bucks.. I got mine on ebay...
heres a link.. not sure if they sell what you want but I think they can build one??
I know its made by someone.. A guy in town has one in his 240.
I'm ready to order one for my 62 F100 with a 223 6 cyl. The question(s) I have is - do I have a 12v system or 6v? The only tale tale sign that gives me the impression that I have a 12 volt is a hole in my dash where the previous guy cut the old am radio out to install his modern stereo. (where the heck is the speaker hole btw? LOL) But the truck still has the old generator though. Modern looking battery. Soo confused...
