Thanks! I think so too. My roommate asked me "So are you going to do the headlights now?" And I didn't know what to say. I dont want any less light output out of them so I'm thinking its a "no go" but what do you guys think? I will most likely end up getting some tinted HID's in the long run but that wont be for a long time.
So Now I am wanting to match the AUX back up lights and my 3rd brake lights to my LED 3157's that are in my tails. I already have the switch and relay ran, so it is just a matter of getting some good LED's to mount. Anybody know of where I can get some that would work well for back up lights? And aren't ridiculously expensive. And what about the 3rd brake light as well. The recon one is cool but $80 for that little thing? kind of pushing it.
Oh now you're getting into my area of expertise! lol if you're good at electronics you could figure out the wiring. The lights are controlled by a separate flasher but if you wire the lights directly to a source it wont flash and only do what you want it to do.
Sweet! Well I went ahead and made a sketch of the dimensions of these things and I think they'd work great for back up lights. 7cm X 17.5cm. They are $40 bucks to my door. What do you think. If I get confused with all the different wires will you help me!? I'm pretty good at this stuff but it would be a shame to mess them up.
Sure no prob. I am familiar with this company or these kinds of lights cuz I ordered a set of orange and white for my truck (see pics of my front grille) they're not super bright but they may help some. I can tell you that there should be 3 wires from each light. 1 is the common negative and the other two are the positive leads. you'll have to connect both positive leads together otherwise only half the light will work. But certainly give me a shout if you need some help. I'll PM you my number
Well that doesn't sound too hard. And what do you mean they are not super bright? They are LED's! And I am trying to look at pics of your truck but your gallery isn't set up. And I'll PM you to remind you to PM me your #. I never got a message. Thanks again
Oh I see them now. Is that 6 of them up in your grill? Are those the same size as the ones that I was looking at on ebay? Because if they are I might want to get 4 of them for the back up lights. Do you think they will throw light as well as the halogens I have on there? Because basically I am swapping them so that they match my LED tail lights/reverse light bulbs. The halogens just aren't that bright white or blueish color.

Yea I got 3 orange and 3 white in the grille. Leds can be super bright and are measured in mcd units (millicandela) for the brightness. There is also a viewing angle, so when you look at it straight on they're at full power. The further you go off to the side the light is not projected that way unless it has a wide viewing angle. The wider the better. I don't know if there were specs on that ebay page but check it out. It will def give you some light but depending on how the lense is made and what kind of LEDs are in it will depend how much and where.
The ones I have look smaller than the ones you ordered, so not sure. I dont know if it will be brighter than the halogens but it will give you a more white light back there for sure. Give it a try, for 40 bucks can't go wrong. If they dont' work for that you can put them elsewhere on your truck.
True True. I haven't ordered them just yet. And if they do only throw light straight back, then I can just mount them to where they are slightly angled to the sides. I think it will look sharp. How much did those smaller ones run you? Do you use them for hazards only? or do you drive with them on? can you put up or send me a pic with them turned on? Also, I was looking at this 3rd brake light. It looks similar to the recon but for way cheaper. I also saw some led license plate light bulbs on ebay. I just looked at my truck and the cover for the bulbs made it hard to tell which bulb it took. Is it the 194? just like the corner lights? I didn't have much time to look at it either. How do those covers come off?
Hey sorry about missing your call earlier. I was working in a club putting in a sound system and couldn't answer. Got out of there late too... just got home! ugh. Anyway my grilles are just for warning, I don't drive with them on. I can send you a pic and a vid too. Send me your email. I may still have it but just in case. Brake light's cool too. I have one myself like that. Anyway, bed time.
