HID installed!!! (w/ pics)

Just finished installing my 55w BiXenon kit from Retro-Solutions. I'd have to say it was worth every penny spent. I can't believe the difference between my Silverstars and these lights. I diffinently like have the high beam option as well. Big Thanks to Todd from Retro-Solutions for walking me through getting the bulb in the retaining ring. I can't wait for tonight so I can adjust them and take a road test.

Bulb in the housing

Driver's side ballast was mounted to intake wall and the relay was mounted to one of the bolts on the other side.

Passenger side mounted next to wiper fluid reservoir.

All done! Took little over an hour because I sprayed a coat of paint on the bottom of the AFE intake. Was starting to rust so I hit it with a wire brush and some rust stop paint.

If those are in the factory housing you're going to found out tonight that you are blinding oncoming traffic. Too much light scatter and no cutoff. Aiming them way down helps, but it's still not proper.

Does it have a separate, Quartz-Halogen for the high-beam?

No the bulb itself has a selonoid built itno the base that sucks the bulb in to cast more light into the housing.

That kind of stuff happens up here all the time. Everyone has an HID kit on the factory housing and just blinds on coming traffic. I will still end up getting a kit though so that I myself can see up here.

Awesome upgrade, I have these on my list. But they are way down the list!

Low Beams

High Beams

I lined them up roughly on the garage door then took it out for a road test for final adjustment. Past several cars and nobody flashed their lights at me so it guess the adjustment on the road straightened them up. I am so thrilled with them. One of the biggest complaints about my truck was my headlights were too dim even with the silverstars in them, not anymore! I can see deer from a half mile away now!

WOW..that does look great!! Is there any major cutting or anything involved with the mod or do they fit right in the existing headlight mounts?

The only cutting drilling etc... is you have to mount the ballasts somewhere close to the light housings. Otherwise it's completely plug and play.

HID's FTW!

Can you see my truck?

This was taken without flash...

I used the 55w 5000k kit from DDM Tuning.
