Alright, I've been having a hard time trying to get the information together on this... if someone could try to help me get all of this straight and in one place, I'd REALLY appreciate it. Here's what I've got so far:
I have to widen the holes on TPS so I can rotate it and I rotate it so I can get 1V at the throttle at idle... right? Then, I can shim the pedal away from the firewall so the whole assy. hits itself, not the floor at WOT, right? I've also heard of grinding away at the bumper to get even MORE voltage. Any help and/or suggestions/info you might have would be much appreciated. When I get my info together, I'll try to do a detailed writeup as soon as I can find the time. I've already got two or three other writeups to do... my regulated fuel return, filler neck mod, and something else I forgot.
Here you go... here's what I'm talking about. They did this in the OBS trucks ('94.5 on up) and they have the same pedal assemblies that my truck does. Supposedly, the truck recognizes and voltage from 1V on down to be idle. The point of this mod is to make for a higher WOT voltage... I also intend to shim the pedal from the firewall so that it hits the bumper, not the carpet. But here's the general gist of it... I think my voltage is too low and the IVS is getting hit too late. That, or the IVS is bad... all I know is when I tinkered around, my idle drop problem goes away for a time. I need to take it out and see if the tab is bent.
