ok im looking at lifting my truck is there a cheap way like a shackle flip with the stock mounts for the rear is it possable???? and what other ways can you lift the front oh and ya the truck is a 76 ranger f250 4x4 dana 44 up front 60 rear hoping i cant lift for cheap not hella cash
well depends on how much you wanna lift, shackle flip with stock hangers is weak as **** and I don't recommend it and will only lift you like 3". For that you might as well get a cheap add a leaf or block or both. For the front the only "easy cheap" way is longer shackles but there isn't much of a gain there. If you have a welder etc you can make a square tube front spring mount to get you a couple more inches, chuck's trucks will sell you one too but might as well make your own. its a good idea anyway, ties the frame horns together in the front makes it a lot stronger.
I have 3" on my 77 F-150 and it clears 36's with ease. I have had 38's on it but they are tight and rubbed off on even easy off roading. If your 76 is a highboy you can run 35's stock maybe even 36's but after that you would need a couple inches. I think your cheapest way would be by adding a couple leafs to the stack to get a 1" to 2" pretty easy and cheap. But I agree with "hasteranger" a shackle flip or adding a block in the front is a very bad idea.
thanks for the info so far the trucks a f250 i have more then enough room in the back for 35 s it has a rebco logger box on it and air bags in the rear its really just the front im looking to raise but i cant just lift the front would be ugly and so wrong in so many ways i will get a pic up soon of the truck
There is always the body lift option. Know anyone that has some square 3" tubing laying around? Finding 7/16" coarse thread bolts though can be tough. You need to find a good parts store around you for those. And you would have to cut and weld the steering column and clutch rod if you have them.
