Well looked at LMC for their replacement panel. Can anyone tell me or show me, how far does it rap around the cab? Pic on the web site isn't clear. Called them and the woman on the phone said no idea and has no picture lol. Does it cover from door opening all the way around to the back of the cab.. where it goes vertical an level with frame? has anyone got a picture of their patch panel ? ( you'll have to forgive me .. i'm a visual person haha )
thanks
sorry ... its for a 1979 f250 regular cab long box 4x4
I don't know about LMC I don't get much from them because they are kind of high but Almost every cab corner I have ever gotten goes from the inner edge of the door opening around to about 1 to 3 inches past the vertical rise and almost to the frame. They are usually about 16" tall but you can cut them down to fit your needs. Some people put them over the old corners but for the best fit and look its better to cut the old ones off. Its not that hard of a repair but you will need to remove the bed to do it properly.
I'd like to see the panel held up to the truck, too. Because there are 2 panels, the "cab corner" and the "door post repair" and in some of the drawings it almost looks like the cab corner doens't go to the door opening. I'm assuming it would be the same piece from lmc or bgy or npd but they do have different drawings.
Cab corner does indeed go from the door opening (has the "lip" to spot weld) all the way to other side with a 3/8" lip or so all the way.
I know LMC gets bagged on quite a bit, but the last time I ordered some sheetmetal from them they were stickered MADE IN USA. Although, on a different order the metal was stamped made in china and also made in Mexico.
I ordered some other sheetmetal from Blue Oval and it was China.
