Bug Deflector

Has anyone installed a deflector on the hood? Wondering how most of them attach, and how it looks. I have had one on all of my other vehicles, but looking at the 2010 I am not sure about the mounting.

Oh by the way. Checked the price on Autoanything to compare and just so happens that with discount and free shipping the cost was the same as Weather tech with shipping. Now me wonders about other accessories ordered from Autoanything?

Thanks!!!! But, how does it attach to the hood where the grill is? I don't think those directions are exactly right (they probably are generic).

If it's like the Weathertechs, it attaches to the hood in the grill area with 3M double-sided body moulding tape.

In other words, you need to sets of hands to install it.

So the two way tape has to go on the painted hood right above the grill? I don't think I like that. If you ever wanted to take it off the glue residue would be tough to clean and could damage the paint.

I bought a low-profile Wade brand bug deflector. I believe it attaches under the hood (I havent really looked, is that terrible? lol) I had it installed at an auto accessories store where they do lifts, etc. But I asked and they told me it goes in pre-existing holes under the hood and clamps on to them. A concern i had was will it rub off the paint or leave marks if I choose to remove it and the assured me that it wouldnt.

I say low profile because its smaller then the type you but at Auto Zone or whatever that looks like a fu manchu mustache. Mine is hardly noticable from any angle but the front. You may be able to see it in my gallery pics.

It doesn't attach to the top of the hood. It attaches to the bottom of the top rail of the grill (it covers the top rail of the grill).

Oh, I got it now. That's not as big of a deal. That chrome plastic would clean up pretty easy if you wanted to remove it.

Thanks!!!

You're welcome!

Once that tape hits the grill, it's stuck, so have that second pair of hands ready before you start...

I was about to buy the chrome one at the dealer until the parts guy talked me out of it. He said a lot of people have brought them back complaining that the glare they cause has almost caused accidents. I thought a Chrome one would look hot on my silver truck, but not if I wrap the truck around a tree!
