Hey guys, I will be picking up a 2010 screw 4x4 xlt with the 6.5 bed tomorrow and I need some advice on a line-x bedliner and a chrome bug-deflector. What is considered a good price for them-I'm going to put the oem deflector on. Do most people still think the linex is the best choice? Thanks in advance for your opinions, Mike
Line-X applied today to a 5.5 short bed. Lets not forget I'm not in America and it cost me $599 plus a tip to the actual gent who applied it. By the time it was finished it was dark out and raining like heck. I won't be able to really access the work till tomorrow.
There was a long and comprehensive discussion on this topic last summer/fall that may be worth reading for you. I have an Armadillo spray-in liner because I was told it would not grip as much as LineX. It's a good thing for me because I put pallets of seed in the back and it's nice to be able to slide them a little bit when I'm putting them in with the fork lift.
I hope the link I added works for you, if not just search on this forum for spray-in bed liner and you'll find it.
Thanks for the link, I decided to go with a linex, and the dealer had it put on for me at their cost-$400, which I think is a good deal, the local linex dealer did a great job, Mike
400 is a pretty good price... I paid 500 through the dealer but they offer lifetime touch up/warranty whereas the line-x dealer only offered a limited warranty... I have been very happy with mine. As for the chrome bug deflectors, I was going to get one until my parts guy told me they had many returned after people complained about sun reflections in thier eyes all the time.
Thanks for the heads-up on the bug=deflector, I didn't think about that. I had one on my 08 250 kr and didn't have that issue, I wonder if it's the angle on the one for the 150?.I have already ordered it-cost $82.50, I will let you know if it's a problem with glare, Mike
I have a Rhino spray-in liner that was under $400 for 8' box + tailgate. This is the second truck with this brand that seems to hold up fine. I do a lot of hauling rougher items (pallets/feed/skid loader parts). Which ever one you choose, make sure they put it on thick. My last truck had to be redone since the installer was late for lunch and just did a once over instead of the normal layers. He got fired and I got redone, a hassle. For this Ford, I made sure a said something and they got it right the first time. Chris
