I tried really hard to duplicate this shot - yes, I took my freshly detailed truck somewhere to do some "glamour shots" (lol...as much as I can anyhow) but check the difference. I know the lighting is not perfectly the same, but it's as close as I think I'm going to get today.

Products: A round with the Meguiar's "Smooth Surface" clay bar kit with Quick Detailer, then Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, machine applied with a random orbital bought from Griot's Garage, with a coat of Meguiar's NXT2.0 Tech Wax on top, also machine applied and hand removed.

Today, after detailing

Last week after just a wash

And yes, a couple more full shots of the detailing job:

Looks good! I knew it needed a coat of wax but didn't have a chance to get to it before I sold it to you.

Thanks Scott. No worries on the pre-sale job...I had fun with this, even though it took a while. Gave me something to do on my day off, since I was certainly bored and hurting for things to do

Holy cow Bill, that is a night and day difference.

That is a sharp looking truck that you got yourself from Scott.

Thanks Neil. I really like black on a truck (just ahead of burgundy), even with as much of a challenge as it can be to make it look good. This cleaned up really well. Not saying it was in bad shape (certainly was NOT) but a good detailing made it all that much better.

Thanks Pat.

Eric - yes, they did...much appreciated. I got my random orbital, so I changed the plan slightly but none the less everything worked out great.

This is fun...lol.

Tomorrow's small job: Add these to the truck. LED brake lights and LED 3rd brake light on the back of the cab. All are "smoke" tinted, which should go well with the black. Of course, more pix to follow.

Neil - got mine off eBay for a good price. I'm anxious to see what they end up looking like myself.

Of course, pix to follow...lol.
