hpop swap continued!

hey so i am finally doing my hpop swap because my ipr needed changing so im sending my new pump to joey to make it work on my early 1995 truck. i got my old pump out just fine thanks to rubberduck for the write up he did! im just curious how do i tell if the new pump i have is really a 17 before i send them to joey? i got it from a guy that said its a 17 and i trust him but im just new to the hpops and both pumps look the same. is there anyway to tell if its a 17 via part numbers or anything besides the swash plate?

copied this from an email he sent me on mine.
Do you see any numbers written in black ink? Like a 249 or 449?

if you pull the snap ring and you apply compressed air to the inlet port of the pump(the lowest large port on the drivers side face of the pump), it blows the cover off.

you will need to remove that back cover. If you see a bearing, it's a 15. A tiny brass bushing would be a 17.

hope that helps

Personally I wouldn't remove that rear cover. But that is just me. I would send it to Joey. He will let you know if it is not the right pump and I bet he will work with you. He is a very great guy to work for.
