What are some things that would cause long crank times before it will fire up?

 

HPOP leaking down, bad CPS

 

a few bad glowplugs?

 

What would cause the HPOP to leak down?

 

on the 94.5 to i think late 95 then it could be the anti drain back vavle

LPOP Cracked pickup tube-to test --- jack up rear end of the truck to cover the crack with oil and try to crank it.
Open clearances on the fuel pump or the hpop
Low oil level
ICP going out or oil on pins
IPR Dirty or stuck or tin nut loose
Bad wires at ICP or IPR
Several injectors not firing
Dirty screen in fuel bowl
Dirty fuel filter
fouled out FPR
EGBP valve stuck closed
MAP sensor out
Barometer sending bad reading
UVCWH shorting to ground common or motor
Oil filter bypass check missing or stuck open
