advice is go look at GM,Dodge.don't even think of a ford thay say best in class in fuel mpg but my 2008 has ben geting 7.5-8.0 mpg. Ford says that all that i can expect to get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 2008 is the biggest fuel sucking pig diesel in all of human history. The new Ford diesels are much better in that area. Read up before you buy your next truck and you'll be happier with your purchase. For now, you can go to the 6.4L Power Stroke diesel forum at this site and find help to improve your fuel economy some.
Of course, I see that both Ford and GM are now advertising best in class fuel economy. From a recent magazine test I saw, the GM has better fuel economy unloaded whereas the Ford is better towing.
What I found out regarding warranties is that you can buy one at any ford dealer in any state. You do NOT have to buy from the dealership you buy your truck from. Years ago I saved a bundle by shopping around. Also,I have owned a 7.3,and a 6.0 and now a v10 gasser. I tow big stuff and for my money, I would find a v10 and jump on it while some are still available.
Again thanks for all the advise. I was going to meet with the salesman this morning to work up an order. As I was making plans with my wife, she said "I wouldn't do this right now..." and stated a bunch of worthless reasons blah-blah-blah... The same woman who was pushing me to buy the 2010 3 or 4 nights ago...
Wrecked my day. I think I will start drinking this morning.
