Axel pivot bushings

Axel pivot bushings
I have a 82 F100 that I'm putting new front suspensions components on. While putting in the axle pivot bushing the 2 sides on the axle tends to push together. Has anyone found a way to keep this from happening? Do I need to make something to fit in between the 2 sides to keep if from pulling in?
