AC vents
I have read most of the other posts on the related topics concerning vaccum leaks within the ac/heating system. my vehicle is a 2006 pathfinder which is in "default" mode blowing ac only out of the defrost vent. i looked for the vaccum globe/reservoir under the passenger side fender well and bumper after removing the fender flare and fender liner. couldnt find it. however i did find a skinny hard plastic brittle black hose coming through the fire wall right next to a grey hose of the same type. this black hose has a check valve on it and it has been severed. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THIS HOSE GOES FROM HERE? i would think this is my problem. thanks for the help. any pictures?

yes, that is a good location for a problme. the hose should start at the intake manifold of the truck, go thru a TEE and check valve... thru the fire wall, and end up at the heater control **** that selects duct location for air.
