Ranger Max AC switch acting funny
Now I know this is not the season for AC but in AZ it will be here sooner than we think. My daily Driver is a 97 2.3l 2 wheel drive auto, xlt single cab ranger, It has 170k and still runs great, The AC works fine on AC mode but when moved to Max Ac mode it starts to work, but as soon as you push more than half on the accelerator pedal the vents just shut off. I am assuming this is a vacum issue and have looked over all the vaccum hoses under the hood and Have even replace the main vaccum switch that controls the AC, (the one that selects all the different modes, AC, Max AC, Off, Top vents, Floor, Defrost, etc) and still no luck, The problem I have is livable but as anything I would just like to have it fully funcional.
Any experiences you guys can share would be great,
Thanks
Brian
I have the Same exact Problem with my 98 2 wheel drive ranger i have not fixed it yet but when the truck is running and i shut off the radio i hear a slight vacume leak at the selector **** and when i wiggle it, it gets worse. I was just gonna replace it but i have not had a chance to buy a new one. Please Let me know if you have the same noise at the **** when the truck is running and the selector **** is set at MAX A/C since you replaced yours. Is yours new or did you buy a used one?
