They were an option as indicated. Not just for the "trailer special" package.....
You have a short bed? Will it fit between the wheelwell and the front of your truck bed? Just make sure before you commit! (I don't know if it will and I'm not at home to measure mine, sorry..)

no i have a 79 long box i just like the option and was curious as to where i could find one.
i would really like to find one new as my rig has no rust and is in excellent shape as far as dents go. I am having a hard time finding anything on it, ie: year, model, measurements there has to be a part number or someone who made a mould to stamp one. I just thought it was a sweet option and would love to have it.
