As I'm not certain that we need both a Secretary AND a Treasurer (don't even know if we will have an $ yet!) I think we need volunteers / nominations for this combined position.
Has anyone talked with the other Chapter's board members to get helpful information?
I hope that events and get togethers can span the state and calendar. For example the car club I belong to is based in Va. Beach. Great for those that live there - not for those that don't. I don't attend those gatherings due to the drive/traffic. The good news is that there are other (car) club chapters in the northern and western part of the state and club members from one region can attend their events.
Like someone else noted it's a big state so the events organizer needs to remember that and "spread it around".
I would be happy to join but am not willing to do the drive to VA beach/Norfork until the state does something with 64E out of Richmond.
Anything near the Richmond area though count me in. I'd also be happy to help out however I can.

Well, this isn't the thread to be discussing this. But I will answer you with what our original idea was - that each region of Virginia would have their regional meets with at least ONE designed to attract members from all around the state (after all, we all live in great tourist areas) and our main "business" meeting would, in the future, be held in Richmond if we can get a place to hold it. Richmond - everyone lives within a couple of hour drive of it - I went there and back to have Thanksgiving dinner with my sister and her husband last Thursday.
Now, back to business - do we want to have a Secretary AND a Treasurer or a Secretary/Treasurer position - and do we have any nominations for that position?
I humbly accept the nomination. But we DO need more nominations - don't we have any other bean-counter types out there? I know you Northern Virginia guys must have some "suit" to put up. And the Western and Central Virginia regions are full of Generation X types that love Fords, so Speak up guys! (or do you WANT all your chapter officers to be in Tidewater?)
