am trying to figure out the actual part name of the box side compartment. I have a 79 250 custom with the 'trailer special' package and i want to graft this "as i call it' the 'treasure chest' into it but i cant find it anywhere. can someone educate me pleeeez

You can go buy a clip if you can find a decent one in the salvage yards. Or I can sell you mine as this one is a spare!

I tried to google it again, but to no avail, is it only a certain year they came on? I live in Ontario and most trucks of this vintage are completely rotted, never mind finding one with the door still intact. I would like a new complete unit or at least the door and frame. Any links or ideas?

Honestly I dont even know whats its worth. Obviousy value is determined by demand.
The tool box is complete: plastic insert, lock catch, hold up cable, support bracket. The only thing I see that is bad is the support for the catch is missing. But that is basically a piece of sheet metal.
