I wouldnt have powdercoated the frame and suspension...unless you live some where that they dont use road salt or you have no plans of driving in the winter. Powdercoating has no primer so once it chips the moisture gets in and rusts it out. Also once chipped it peels off in long strips...look at any late model vehicle with a subframe or a late model truck. Ford used a [powder coat on the suspension parts and have probably made a fortune off of people in the midwest selling spring shackles, shock mounts, radius arm brackets, and whatever else gets rusted out. I'm sorry if I came across like I was bashing your decision as I didnt mean to I am only trying to inform you of my experience and what I have learned in talking to a couple of guys that powdercoat and listening to my parts guy at the Ford dealer tell me how many suspension brackets they have sold due to the coating getting chipped and peeling and not having primer underneath.

Well..SDully its a little late now. As I said before it aint seeing salt after all the body work involved. I've chipped mine in several places and it does not seem to be a problem. I hit it with some touch up primer and paint where it has been damaged. I also did it to a quad frame many years ago and it was bulletproof. Serious woods riding. I guess time will tell.

Mocked up the trans today and figured out the crossmember. Might be a little overkill but it is not going anywhere. Cab on tomorrow night.

Powdercoating that falls off was either not done properly, or REALLY hammered by rocks. The whole idea is it's not just a coating, it's soaked into the metal. Powdercoat is a fantastic primer - you can shoot paint on top of it for an incredibly long lasting finish, and it would be repairable (blendable topcoat color)

Dont know what I did with the "CAB ON" photo. But anyway its on and we mocked up the fenders so we could drill holes for the cab.

Decided to shut up and make my own linkage for kickdown and throttle.
Dont know why I just didn't do this in the first place. The thread for the linkage that goes from the carb to pedal lever is a mystery to me. It's not 10x24 or 12x24...huh.

Shift linkage had to be shortened.Does anyone make a special puller to get shift linkage off or on the column???I am sick of wrestling with these darn things. What is the magic method or tool.

MSD is almost in and we got about 10 inches of snow today so I get to spend the afternoon in the barn. SWEET

Borgeson steering shaft is in. Steering column spline was flared somewhat on the end and was a major pain to get on without breaking something.

That is one sweet project you have on the go. The only problem I have with it is the drool collecting on my keyboard.

Holy shed! That thing is really coming along! Looking great!

I probably missed it but what carb are you running? If it's one of those truck avengers I'd be interested in knowing how it works out for ya

That damn shift rod is a mf'er
Put the nylon bushing in the shift arm first then grease up the hole the rod goes thru, rod pops right in with a LARGE pair of channel locks

Got the 460 running and broken in which went without incident. Had a minor float adjustment on the Edelbrock carb but no big deal. Modified the trans cover for the transfer case and put in the floor mat and seat.

Need something other than an milk crate to sit on.

Need drive shafts and hydroboost....we rollin soon.
