carter fuel pump
carter fuel pump
i have a 66 f-100 with 352 has a carter fuel pump with canister with markings 0-2208 i'm trying to find out if the pump is rebuild-able and if so where can i get a rebuild kit
The original Carter fuel pumps for your application would have been marked:
3909-S = C3AZ9350R / 1965/67 F100/350 352 / 1968/69 F100/350 360/390 without P/S / Obsolete/Replaced.
4314-S = C3AZ9350U / 1965/67 F100/350 352 / 1968/69 F100/350 360/390 with P/S / Obsolete/Replaced
4194-S = C6AZ9350B / 1966 F100/350 352 / Obsolete/Replaced.
In 1972, Ford replaced C3AZ9350R, C3AZ9350U and C6AZ9350B with D2TZ9350A, which is an Airtex pump marked RD-410-MF / Obsolete
If you are interested in one of the original fuel pumps...
C3AZ9350R =
B & L FORD in Ashland PA has ONE = 570-875-4417.
--------------------------------------------------
C3AZ9350U =
GRIESEL MOTOR CO. in Okarche OK has ONE = 405-263-7242.
------------------------------------------------------------
C6AZ9350B =
BLOOMER FORD in Bloomer WI has ONE = 715-568-2182.
The Carter 0-2208 is a M4907 internally according to some sources. Check out the link to see if that is it. Carter X Fuel Pump Rebuild
Here is your Airtex RD-410-MF http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...9&keyword=6523 Or according to the airtex site it is a 4194 without the filter or a 6523 with a filter.

Something right up my alley I dealt with...and played heck getting the right part...
Contrary to what many will say...part stores especially...there were 2...TWO variations of the fuel pump used on the FE engines in 65...and I suspect 66..one IS serviceable...the diaphram can be replaced...obvios to the eye as it has many small bolts securing the 2 halves together.
The other type, and the one much harder to find, is the non servicable crimped together unit...no bolts at all...Original units will have a 4 digit number stamped into the mounting flange area...on mine its on the lower rear surface as installed on the engine...thus not easily viewable on the engine...There were a few different variations available..
Mine has a code of 4007 stamped in it...and I still have it...the original will also have Carter cast into the body of the pump as well...
If you have an inline fuel filter, you can use the later D2TZ part number as those dont have the fuel filter can below it as original...cheaper too I would suspect as well.

I see no listing for it in either of my truck parts catalogs (1957/68, revised January 1968) / (1964/72, final printing May 1975).

My fuel pump has the same number on it and this is what I have. I run it on my 90 Mustang with a 351W. Not sure if they can be rebuilt.
