1997 4.2 engine

how do change the furl filter on the 97 ford f150 its got to metal clips on each end i losend them up but it still won't slide out on either side. can any one help me?

You'll need a fuel line disconnect tool that slides over the line on the filter and pushes into the coupler. It's spring loaded and this tool will slide in and release the spring enough to pull the line off of it. You can get this tool for a couple of bucks at an autoparts store. The two sizes that are most popular for getting fuel filters off are 5/16" and 3/8". Good luck.
