ok, so i went to wallyworld and got a FL1995, i'll be due in a week or two for an oil change so i'll give it a whirl then and as for the Baldwin filters, i got a couple of them and so far so good, they look like they really catch the crap..WAY better than the $55 K&N Filters look, and i got 6 baldwins for half the price of a K&N. WooHoo!!
You have to keep a very close eye on them.
Service rather often.
Extreme dust, some of it is going right through the filter once the oil gets soaked up.
They do OK in normal applications, not a lot of dust if you service them every other week.
If you want to run it for 6 months before you look at it, not a good filter choice for you.
I ran one for a while on my 6.9 while it was NA.
But I have better things to do than service a K&N filter every day when the job sites dry to fine talcum powder dust.
