4x4 van conversion

Think of converting a 92 1/2 ton van to 4x4, want the 3/4 ton axles tho.... anyone know of any problems I may encounter? I already know I have to find a s/c truck so the driveshafts fit.

you will run into more problems then its worth. there is a company called Quigley in pensilvania that converts full size vans to 4x4 , but they will only do it to new vans and for 6 grand on top of the price of the van.

good luck

If I could afford a Quigley I would buy one... but 50 grand is out of my reach. The wheelbase between the van and the s/c long bed are the same, the chassis are almost identicle.

almost but not the same up front , i think you'd be better off doing a solid axle swap then trying to get a TTB under there.

have you ever looked at a Quigley van ?

the front drive shaft is on the right side of the truck and the front diff it on the right side also , oppisite from a normal TTB ford setup.

you will need a transfer case and a trans tail adaptor to get the shaft on right side of the van. i wonder if Quigley has a web site ?

It appears that way on the quigleys.. not sure of their reasoning.... the motor in the van is already offset to the right so the left side axle is a sure fit. and the motor is out of the way of the driveshaft. Look at
