Think of converting a 92 1/2 ton van to 4x4, want the 3/4 ton axles tho.... anyone know of any problems I may encounter? I already know I have to find a s/c truck so the driveshafts fit.
you will run into more problems then its worth. there is a company called Quigley in pensilvania that converts full size vans to 4x4 , but they will only do it to new vans and for 6 grand on top of the price of the van.
If I could afford a Quigley I would buy one... but 50 grand is out of my reach. The wheelbase between the van and the s/c long bed are the same, the chassis are almost identicle.
Originally posted by pfogle Ummmm D.D. you need to take a closer look at the websites that you sent me...... ALL of the vans listed have the front dif on the LEFT side.
all but the quigley vans.
i found those sites in less then 2 mins of searching
It appears that way on the quigleys.. not sure of their reasoning.... the motor in the van is already offset to the right so the left side axle is a sure fit. and the motor is out of the way of the driveshaft. Look at http://www.glinx.com/~sbest/
