Ford never made any 4x4 vans, they are all outside conversions. There are/were a couple companies converting brand new vans including Quigley, and I believe there are kits available from some of these guys now, though they are $$$. I have only ever seen a few 4wd vans and interestingly one of them was an IFS E150, I never got a good look at it but it was close to stock ride height.

yeah conanski is right I've seen the aftermarket ones-actually called one many years ago -their price was over 6 thousand way back then-I think it was in the early 80s-can't imagine what they run now-as i remember they were doing a 3/4 or 1 conversion only-so no matter what ya had it would be 3/4 ton or better

Around 1985, a pal of mine bought a 1980 (or so..cannot recall the exact year) E250 Pathfinder 4WD conversion, all the front suspension parts were shot.

The owners manual was missing, Pathfinder was out of business...so it was match-up-the-parts time.

Back then, I was working at Crenshaw Motors Ford in LA, which had the 3rd largest stock of parts in the world, so it was EZ to match parts up...as we stocked it all.

Everything was the same as F250 EXCEPT for the draglink.

He never did find what it was...and had to have one made up.

I just ordered a new Quigley van conversion which added nearly $12000 to the price of my new '09 E350 diesel van. I hope it's worth the bucks!
