Just curious to know what type of brake pads most guys are using on their trucks today? I have always used Motorcraft, but I'm getting a little tired of all the brake dust and not to mention they're pulsating again. I was considering ceramic, but don't know how well they stop a truck??(especially when towing or hauling) Thanks for your help
Hawk LTS and Super Duty pads are popular on here. I have a set that I haven't used yet, because the Duralast Golds from Autozone have lasted a lot longer than I though they would. Duralasts arent bad for $40 a pair, but Hawk has a better reputation here

Any excessive dust?? How do they stop when towing or hauling compared to your stock brakes?
The Duralasts are basically identical to the stock pads are far as sensation, they might fade just a little less. Are far as dust, after towing a 6k trailer to Dallas and back they were barely noticeably dirty, and cleaned up with just a dry rag.
I use hawk LTS pads and so far won't use anything else on a truck. I used duralast gold before and they don't take the heat while towing and I experienced alot of brake fade and dust. I have duralast gold on my Pontiac Bonneville and the brake dust is extreme.
I have never experienced brake fade with hawk lts pads; brake dust does exist but it is less than what standard or stock pads produce.

The pulsating is caused by warped rotors, not pads. Some (including myself) have had good luck with powerslot cryo rotors up front. I paired them with the hawk LTS pads, and couldn't be happier. Not too much dust, but stops on a dime.

After reading a lot about this I went with Power SLot Cryos and Hawk HD. I was severely disappointed in the braking performance and the feel, I swear I could feel when every slot hit the edge of the brake pad. When I did the brake job I also went with new calipers too since I had 140K miles on it.
I'm very thorough doing the work too, but I thought okay maybe I didn't bleed enough air out so I did it again, still the same. I'm glad I sold it so I don't have to worry with them.
When my new truck needs brakes I'll stick with standard rotors and try just the Hawk pads only. BTW, I got mine through AUTOANYTHING, their a sponsor (or were) here on FTE.
