Size Does Matter!!!!!!!!!!!!

AN EXPY!!!!! I drove and EXCURSION! Well...did.

I am looking at the Bullnose but the full coverage one looks nice. I just don't want too much weight on the front. I saw a "copy" Ranch hand on e-bay today...waiting for a price.

Oh and Matt... bite me. I saw it tonight as they delivered it to the rental car place...can't pick it up till tomorrow. It's a No-Boundaries edition or what ever they call nowdays. I think it's got a V10 in it cause it's a 4x4. Dude said V8 but what does he know. Unfortunantly, I'm positive it's not a diesel.

Waxy...can you send me some of that Canadian tape yer talking about?

Glad no one required immediate medical attention... but hold off on declaring that everyone is OK. Having been the unfortunate particpant in a couple of "good" accidents, I can tell you that it often takes 3 or 4 days before the pain of injury hits. You and the family should take it easy for a couple of days until you are 100% positive that everything is OK.

Now, exactly how coincidental is it that you've been thinking about a new 2WD w/PSD????

Monsta,
Haven't you heard, there's been a run on duct tape the last few days! Your gonna have to settle for chewing gum and bailing wire.

Real glad to see your family walked out of it, bet the wife will want to keep a bus around for a long time! All that metal makes for a great bumper!

Again glad to hear they're OK.....

Doug

Man, what a mess-up - My bad. My bro. just got a new EXPY '03
(Estate Green.... hmmmmmm) and brought it over last nite to show it off, so I guess I had
that on the brain whilst I was a typin' ..... sorry 'bout that!

From their limited website pix, I think I like the bullnose too. The other one (full cover) looks like you should be in the outback rally knockin ' roos off the road as you drive along. Either one is some serious metal and will put some weight on the front suspension as you say.

Rockwell, I am meeting with the adjuster Monday. I'll see what the word is on my present grill. If it needs replacing, I'll email you.

I think I'm gonna have to get some signal mirrors. This Limited Excursion I'm driving has 'em. Nice feature. Wonder how I'm gonna fanagle that!?

[B]Monsta, glad all are well after the accident. With respect to your diminished value, I ran across that a couple of years ago when my wife's car was hit. From what I heard, each state has there own laws regarding loss of value after an accident. Unfortunately, Tennessee has not yet passed a law to support this "Real loss" of value. But on the bright side, I was able to hassle the other person's insurance company enough so that they finally gave me close to the estimated loss of value ($3,000 vs about $3,500-$4,000). Not bad considering I had no real leg legally to stand on.

I would first ask your own insurance agent if this law exists in your state and go from there.
This is true. Georgia has a diminished value law but Alabama doesn't. Check into it. And Monsta shouldn't be sad. He planned well and provided for his family and the proof lies in the fact they are all home and safe. Just remember..when one door closes...another opens. This time it may be on a new 03 or 04 "X"!!! BTW, did the airbags deploy? Just curious.

Nah...I won't upgrade unless this one cannot be fixed to my satisfaction. I going to use this "open door" to do some things to it that I've always wanted to do.

The air bags did not deploy. I believe most of the energy of the impact was transfered into his car. That prevented the airbags from deploying. Just not enough force to close the switches.

That Ranch Hand Stuff sure does look nice, but, there's only one dealer in North Carolina and they're 120 miles away and there isn't a Bull nose for a '95. But since I'm looking at a '99 F-350, I'll be sure to keep them in mind. I already have access to a headache rack, but my bedliner covers the holes needed for it to sit in. I'm thinking about cutting just enough out to allow the rack to fit, and move my tool box back to allow the space. I'd like to put lights on it too.

Glad all are well. We bought a v-10 excursion before my son was born for just that reason; I had to sell it a few months ago though.

You are ABSOLUTELY right about size mattering. What disgusts me is the new quasi-political-environmentalist drivel that has become fashionable of late about SUV's. EVERY time I see one of those pitiful "What would Jesus Drive?" stickers, I quietly chuckle to myself thinking, "The man was a carpenter in a country with bad roads, so I imagine a 4WD pickup."

These people act like Newtonian laws of motion are new (F=MA has been the rule for a while now, kids). They also behave as though these irrefutable laws are the "fault" of the larger object benefitting from them. As though, somehow, we must be negligent or just plain stupid and thoughtless to drive something other than an econobox. Apparently, the idea is to force everyone to drive equally light, small vehicles.
