Glad everyone is ok....as we've all read before..metal can be fixed. Good luck with your insurance company..hopefully the rice driver had insurance....
Lisa
I know the feeling, best of alleveryone is ok, I have PEMCO INSURANCE FOR 18 yrs, just a phone call and its adone deal, no worries or questions. hope you have the same type of insurance. Dwight
Was the little ricer driver licensed? insured? I sure hope so! I got hit by one that wasn't (licensed or insured) many years ago and it took almost 6 months to get it cleared up (and this was working with my own insurance company - uninsured motor vehicle is a nice rider on the policy but it is a real pita to collect on).
Really glad the little ricer driver didn't get hurt too bad - no matter how foolish, nobody deserves to leave that way (young, foolish and in a violent manner).
Keep us informed, sounds like a good opportunity for a few new mods while your at it!
Wait a minute- you mean Monsta may be looking to buy a NEW Excursion? Gee, I wonder if we know of anyone here at FTE that might be able to get him a good deal. Hmmm, I'm trying to think of a name, let's see, what WAS that guy's name...............
Monsta, glad all are well after the accident. With respect to your diminished value, I ran across that a couple of years ago when my wife's car was hit. From what I heard, each state has there own laws regarding loss of value after an accident. Unfortunately, Tennessee has not yet passed a law to support this "Real loss" of value. But on the bright side, I was able to hassle the other person's insurance company enough so that they finally gave me close to the estimated loss of value ($3,000 vs about $3,500-$4,000). Not bad considering I had no real leg legally to stand on.
I would first ask your own insurance agent if this law exists in your state and go from there.
So the guy estimates about 5-6 grand in damage. Even the front wheel needs to be replaced. All in all it's not too bad. I won't need a new grill... But I think a nice Ranch Hand bumper is in order!
Monsta ! I'm glad your family is okay!
Feel bad for your x though !
from the pic's and the angle of the hit .I would walk around the truck on pass side ck all your gaps in the doors on that side .The hit could of caused the the nose to sway over ever so slightly .Frames are not as tough as they used to be ,it could have pushed those replaceable sections over a little!or the core support in the front
are all the gaps the same?do they open an close right?
looks like the front wheel and axle may have taken alot of the blow ,comparing the two pic between the honda and your x! make sure they ck that axle housing (bent)
As a tip when dealing with bodyshops and insurance always leave your claims openended . in case something unnoticed at the time of accident can be fixed, adjusted for later
I hope this won't delay your exit to Hawai !
OK Ken, admit it. You wanted to add some aftermarket stuff and you needed an excuse... ROTFLMAO
Let's see:
- Xenarc Hi-Intensity lamps
- New one-piece chrome grill
- New fiberglass hood w/ functional scoop
- New body-match lower spoiler with lights
- New bull bar with some PIAA goodies attached
- New rims (bet that front left has been bent now)
- New shoes to go along with the new rims
- New power mirrors with heat and turn signal indicators
Did I miss anything?
Seriously, glad everyone is OK. Thank goodness for large vehicles.
First things first. As everyone else has said, I am glad your family is ok. At that speed, it was the equivilant of each vehicle hitting a brick wall at about 70. Ok, for your wife, a small crappy brick wall, but hey. I cut up cars at accident scenes for a living, so I was amazed that the kid was ok. You probably will get sued for being such an un-American butt (OK, not using foul language is killing me) and driving such a large vehicle, causing so much potential for death and destruction, but hey... if he had been driving something bigger, made in the US, then perhaps he would still have windows. (you were right, that is too cool!)
I enjoyed seeing the drivers side wheel well ram air scoop you had installed, but be careful with dirt, debris, and rice getting in your air cleaner.
Hope your family doesn't have any other problems. Remember Darwinism is alive and well, and make sure you rag the hell out of his insurance company to make them pay what they owe and have your truck fixed right.
On the bright side, your week has to get better. Take care.

Yeah...that about covers it! 'Cept I want a Ranch-Hand! I say one today!

I thought the ZooDad mod was getting a bit old. Thought I'd show you guys how to really get some air into that intake!
I hope this won't delay your exit to Hawaii!
Are you kidding!!??!! NEVER!
I am getting a rental Excursion tomorrow. I hope I can control myself with modding it! A nice virgin truck... it'll need some "monsta" love!!!
Does anyone have any tips on dealing with insurance companies when trying get my truck fixed?
What is dimished value? Can expect some sort of compensation for the loss of value of the truck due to the accident that is above the repair costs?
Anybody got an XL grill? Seems now would be a good time to get one & have it painted to match the truck. Do you think a stock hood costs more than the Reflexx hood Rotton Dog has?
Glad everyone is OK! I'd hook you up with my stock hood but it
was taking up space in the garage and I gave it away!

Biiiiigggggg deal Monsta, that's nothing a hammer and some duct tape won't fix. Heck, half the cars in the poorer end of my hometown don't look or drive that good.
