Though I had the problem fixed!

Was having oil pressure issues. So I dropped the pan and cleaned it out which had about 2" of sluged at the bottom and cleaned the pick up tube screen and put a new oil pump in. Have been driving it now for about 2 weeks and this morning when I got off the express was and stopped at the light the oil gauge bottomed out and the oil light came on, and then came back up. and it did it again on my way to work tonight when I stopped at the light. I am going to change the oil pressure sensor and see if that helps, If not it looks like I and going to have to rebuild the motor. 98 4.2 V 6 with 287.xxx miles

the pressure sensor is an on- off switch that closes at 8 pis. if you have 5-6 psi at ilde, it will turn the light on. only a real gauge will show you exactly what you got.
