Driving on the hwy home tonight and heard a chime and low oil pressure came on. I was driving, not fast about 20 km per hour. I hit the OK button and the small oil can came up on the dash. Drove about 1 or 2 minutes and it went away. Drove down the HWY and it came on again this time going a bit faster, about 40 km per hours, same thing, hit OK and went away a minute later. Drove about 20 minutes came to a stop light and the warning came on again, this time for about a minute, started driving and it went away a minute or so later. Then I got home.
Any thoughts? I have a 2011 F350 Lariat with about 22500 KM on it. I just had an oil change done about 1000 KM ago.
At the risk of asking the obvious, have you checked your oil level?
No, not yet, I will be doing that tomorrow, however, with having an oil change done a few weeks ago and no signs of oil leaking, I doubt the oil level will be low, but I will be checking that anyways.
Also, I had been driving and stopping on level ground, if that makes any difference.
it's possible they did not put the right amount of oil in it. It is always a good rule of thumb to check the oil level after someone other than you changes it.

If you haven't noticed oil anywhere, I'm leaning towards cheezit's idea of a failing/failed sensor.
I've only heard of dealers over filling the 6.7L, not under filling but I suppose anything is possible.
And you're right, one would think if it's low oil due to underfill, the truck would have alerted you much sooner.

You would think so...usually when the "idiot light" as some people call it goes off...you are WAY low on oil. That is the last alert I would want to see for sure...but you never know it could be a faulty sensor.
Okay...looks like nobody has said anything so I figure I will.
If you have the low oil pressure light come on with the engine running your oil pressure is REALLY low...as in low enough to destroy your engine low. I always told my wife that if she ever sees this on her dash to shut the engine off immediately and then stop the car.
Your oil level should have been checked the second you could pull off and check it, not days later. Considering the fact that your truck is still running I think it's likely that your sensor went bad...but you did bet your engine on that fact which IMHO is never a wise thing to do.
Unlike a CEL, this isn't a light you can keep driving with!
I've seen mine twice, Once as soon as I changed the oil, I went to start it and it popped up. Second time I had the key on for a bit without starting and saw it pop up. I think both times they went away quickly without having to hit ''ok''

Immediately following an oil change is the ONLY time a Low Oil Pressure light is expected and then only momentarily as the filter is filled and pressure builds. ANY other time you see it, I'd suggest shutting off the engine AS SOON AS YOU CAN. As previously mentioned, get off the road and verify that the oil level is good. ONLY then if the level is in spec should you even consider continuing to drive it. Glad in this case it appears to be a bad sensor!
Early on this message used to appear for me prior to start (when there isn't oil pressure) and a key cycle would fix.
One of the 3-4 flashes that I've had resolved the issue awhile back.
This message with the engine running is more of an issue.
For the oil change, I add 1 qt to the filter then the other 12 to pan fill.
Haven't received the light after an oil change, yet.
