so next spring when i go to pressure wash and spray a couple more coats of paint to fresh it up,ill pull the boxes and hit them brackets good.otherwise,for now;
project Underbed Tool Boxes = complete.
make sure ya always got those boxes latched good.....I seen one guy that had those boxes in his truck and he must have forgot to latch one or didnt have it latched very good and he was driving around with the door open lol. I dont know if their was anything in it to begin with, but he barely missed tearing it off on multiple parked cars...............

im one step ahead of ya.
today i grabbed some extra stick on mirrors to put on mine.
i placed a couple nice size ones down low,and i can see the doors on each toolbox to see if they're open or closed before i move the truck.

alrite, just lookin out for ya man......hate to see ya tear the doors off them purty new toolboxes lol....suck to lose your chainsaws or whatever else takes up residence in there lol
darn nice f250, I wish the ONE box I have was the size of those I need to get a bigger box and then can have it on my driver side but I also want to weld up a small bracket that looks like a mini ladder then weld that to the flatbed frame so I can get things in and out of the bed easier rather than stretching like a gymnest everytime I need something

yeah thats for sure! thanks.
well the T handle design is very good.as long as you remember to close and turn it,and flip it down,it can't ever turn and open by itself.you have to lift it up out first to be able to turn it.
im really good with double checking everything-usually.but all it takes is once lol.so now i can see them while in the cab.i was getting nervous because i couldn't see the one i installed yesterday while driving.it just bugged me.so i fixed that.
i have another video input for my rear view camera,so if needed i was going to install another cam to keep an eye on 'em lol.
i wired that sucker up for full time viewing so i can watch my chipper at all times.i can keep an eye on the works now.

bud i think you got all the angles coverd now! not sure if you should use your truck for work or put it up on a mantel! great job on everything!
haha thanks.
wait til you see her new paint job coming sometime soon.
base (green)
center second tone (black)
house of kolor.
least this is the plans right now.
lund sun visor,a couple front fenders before paint and '05 style f350 xlt fender badges for a cleaner and not so funny "f250 dually" look trick that will fool 95% of people into thinking i just have an f350 dually lol (actually, who am i kidding,5% of the population don't know the difference between a ttb and d60 front axle lol).
then she'll pretty much be back to like new + better than she came from ford, like she should be with such low miles.
im kinda thinking about some dee zee running boards to match the tool boxes now too.
now im done with my "pickup to tree service rig" conversion,if you will.it's about time to finish things up.
hopefully i'll have a good 10 year run with her with nothing major from here on out,and no payments to boot!
after 10 years or so if she's all worn out,she won't go up for sale.i'll be stripping everything and putting it on the next one.mainly the whole rear of course.so lot's of my $ spent will be good for a couple trucks rather than just this one.
hey buddy. I hope your business is doing well. Ive be so busy this year with tree work its crazy. I am actually thinking about buying an f250 or f350 4x4 pickup then putting a dumping stake body onto it just like yours. It seems very practical for a guy like me to have a srw 4x4 dump so i can get into tight spots where my boss cant with his 16 foot dumping stake body. My Question is what did you buy/fabricate in order to make the dump work right? I would just like to know how easy/hard it is for a not so experienced college kid with a smaller budget to convert a pickup to a dumping stake body? I just dont want to dive head first into a huge project and not be able to finish it. Oh and do you really climb on the true blue rope or is that your rigging line. personally i like my arbor master even though its waxy but thats just me.
Around here the F350 emblems are like a magnet for roadside inspections, so you may want to consider that before changing them. Food for thought!
not to worried about that much.i stay legal.i pretty much look like a ton truck in the laws eyes now anyway lol.

yeah.staying pretty busy.
i bought the complete bed whole, had it repaired and custom mounted to my frame at the local welding/fabricating shop.
i cheated.
i did for a while, but didn't like it.way to soft for my tastes.i like the arbormaster the best as well, and went right back to it.
yup,it's one of my rigging lines now.
"climber338" = 338xpt?

Oh i see that may make life a little difficult but for me but may save me some money in the long run. There are a few dump trucks in the local junk yard that would be very easy to get my hands on and just switch it over. After i posted here i did a little more research and i can have my buddy make me up an entire frame for it as well. Ive used both the 338xpt and the ms200t and very quickly realized that im a sucker for power and the 338xpt has a lot power more and also feels way better in my hands. Plus im a sucker for Husqvarna.

Another option for this would be to look around and find a used dump insert, they fit right into the factory box. It won't hold the volume a stake body will, but it would be a simple and easy way to make a dump. Should be able to watch and find a used one for less than a grand, and they'll fit any pickup with an 8' box.

see that was my first idea but i very quickly realized that its way to small and i would be able to fill it up way to quickly. It would not be to bad for small jobs but if i get my self a larger tree then im just waisting my time. I want to be able to fill that puppy with yards and yards of chips then put my gear in the under body boxes and go dump. I really need to get myself a 4x4 stake body dump that will hold at least 6-8 yards of chips. I also want to be able to deliver cord wood and not have to stack a cord in the back of the truck but still be able to deliver it.
Oh a full dump would be the best for sure, but the dump insert could be a good stepping stone. It's what I did, and for chipping like you tree guys do a set of plywood racks would greatly increase the volume. With the one I had, I was going to add 4' racks for wood shavings, as we used them for bedding for horses.
With the size of the insert, and another 4' of racks, it would have held around 6-7 yards. Lots of space for chips though.
i know this sounds kinda trivial.but i recently replaced those white lite grommets for black ones.i was floored by by how much cleaner they made the thing look.
i haven't taken pics since then yet.
they guy doing the welding repairs/installing to the frame ran out of time and didn't get a chance to cut the holes for the front lites.
i need to get around to putting them in.
to afriad to use the torch,i don't want to frig up the new front section lol.i need to look around and find my cutting wheel.i'll use it to install my cowl induction too.-home made cowl induction thread coming soon too.
