the other side is of course easy.i just used the dee zee bracket and it sits on top of it.
the pics dark so i highlighted where it is.
im about 200 lbs and i can sit on the thing and it's not budging.
since the rear bracket holds the box from the top,i didn't want just bolts all by they're lonesome held in just aluminum box side.so i put a angle piece inside.as you can see she's well supported this way.
now i just need to extend my filler tube, and build a bracket or something straight out along the side of the box, then angle it up in the air a bit,so i can fill the front tank with ease.maybe see about some sort of diamond plate housing/lid combo or suppin too to complete the finish look.
so for the other side,i'll copy this exact setup.iv got the other box now,and waiting for installation.
just in back of the bottom nuts and right behind that angle section inside i used toilet tank rubber washers to keep rain out.
yeah,i went overboard using 7/16 grade 8 throughout, but what the heck.she's there to stay lol.

well i started putting on my other box tonight after work and got rained out dangit.
it was some nice carting the saws in their own box.it's only taken me 10 years or so to be able to finally afford the right setup. ah well, better late than never.this rig makes me feel so spoiled i tell ya.i can't figure out how i run a tree service for so long using a stock f150! this is more like it right here.
Check at truck parts places, or a hydraulic shop, see if they have fuel/oil compatible hose. For straight sections you can go to a muffler shop, and get cutoffs from exhaust pipe, since there is the concerns about diesel reacting with zinc, try for either aluminum or stainless, rather than galvanized. I just threw one of my tanks back in my dually the other day (had been running off the rear tank only for a year or more!!) and need to rework the filler for it, right now I have to lift the bed to fill the front tank!
As a part time gig on Friday's I work at local fuel station, have for the past year and half. Nothing worse then a flatbed that won't take fuel!!! The best trick I have seen so far is a guy took 2 1/4 stainless exhaust pipe and ran it from right behind the cab and down to BOTH tanks, basically fill both in one shot. The trick is to keep it going downhill from filler spout to back tank with a T of course for the front tank. The result is he can fill his flatbed on the fastest setting at the big boy pump!
Oh yea for the cap he just cut one of his originals filler spouts off and welded it to the exhaust pipe.
so next spring when i go to pressure wash and spray a couple more coats of paint to fresh it up,ill pull the boxes and hit them brackets good.otherwise,for now;
project Underbed Tool Boxes = complete.
thanks guys.
the brake cable simply goes on the outside of the L bracket.i had to unhook it and slide the bracket in place because of the angled section that comes down.but fits right in there.
it will rub against it when used, but i don't use it as a parking brake or anything.just has to work in the event of a loss of brakes/yearly inspection.so it's not like its going to get chafed enough to mess with.
someone who used the e-brake often would likely want to build a sheath for that spot to keep it from waring out over time.
a rubber hose could be slid over this section and do the trick if i used it often.
darn nice f250, I wish the ONE box I have was the size of those I need to get a bigger box and then can have it on my driver side but I also want to weld up a small bracket that looks like a mini ladder then weld that to the flatbed frame so I can get things in and out of the bed easier rather than stretching like a gymnest everytime I need something
