Remember to install it on the TDC of the intake stroke instead of the exhaust one.

Good one, I knew that, didn't catch it in the initial post. Thanks for the correction.

Went to install the remanufactured distributor and the lower left screw hole for the module was stripped out. Called the auto parts place, they will have a new one for me tomorrow.

There are two different distributor types...One is made with cast iron and the other is steel. They are NOT interchangable so be sure you are getting the correct one for your truck. I brought mine in to compare with the replacement. Hopefully you have the cast iron version...they are cheaper than the steel.

So is the compression stroke also the intake stroke or is it just a compression then exhaust stroke?

4 strokes of a 4 cycle engine
Intake- Piston travels down, intake valve open, cyl fills with air/fuel mixture
compression- valves closepiston goes up and compresses air/fuel mixture
Power- Spark ignites air/fuel mix, forces piston down
exhaust- piston travels up' exhaust valve open
Then it's back to the intake stroke

Got that one figured out, in fact much to my surprise, the parts guy read it from his parts breakdown computer. Thanks
