I know they will fit a stock 80-86 truck w/ out hitting the body. I say try it before you say it can't be done!

Rubbing when hitting bumps and turning the steering lock to lock is not the definition of "they will fit" in my book. I also like to put a load in the bed without any rubbing.

I know its not ideal, but why is it more dangerous? One of the kits a friend got from a 4x4 shop wasn't much different. They didn't have any Polyurethane kits at the time. Some trucks use more of a T-shaped lift if the frame has pockets for them. The bolts were stronger than what came in there. I did add a large washer on top of the puck and on the bolt head due to the slight body rot.
There is ALOT of stuff I don't do anymore after learning things over the years.

hockey pucks are very brittle. the reason they didn't have poly kits back then is because they didn't have the material technology they have these days. There is a reason why people buy body lifts and not hockey pucks.....

A 2 or 3" body lift is fine. The body lift on a 97 does not work due to the down pipe.

And 35" tires do NOT fit on a stock height F250. Christ. 33" barely fit on my F350

ask Mr. Prodouc.......I mean Prozon of the offroad forum. I believe I once read a thread or something where he was talking about how his stock F350 was on 37" swampers....

And I don't even get how 33's barely fit on your 350??? I have 32's measured out to a precise 31 and 5/8's of an inch, and they fit in there fine, w/ plenty of room all around, cept they rub a bit on the sway bar and leaf springs at full turn.

35's will fit on a '86 F250 with stock suspension...........and Bushwacker cut-out fender flares. But, they still rub the inner fender and frame at full lock. Without the flares, anything over about a 33" will rip the front sheet metal to shreds when the tire lugs catch it.

Well here is 35s and a 6" lift. There is NO way if the lift is taken out the 35s will clear.

And here is some wide 35s witch would rub the body with some flexing

35's won't fit a F250 with no lift?

I know it's a 96, but, the 80-86 trucks have more room in the wheelwells...
Or, how about 38.5's with a 3" body lift on what is more or less an 86 F350 with bagged out springs(TTB leaves, little lower than a stock 1 ton:

And for good measure, 33's on an 86 F250 with a 2" BL:

What happened to the rear wheel wells on that first truck? I am still standing by my statement. I don't consider any contact with the body or the frame "fitting".

Rust happened, that was the previous owners fix for getting it through a safety...
The only tire contact is the springs at full lock on any of them, the only way around that is way more lift or backspacing than needed.
We won't mention that the 1 ton now rolls on 44's and needs a different set of wheels with more backspacing so I can get to full lock... LOL
