oh and yes the speed goes away at higher mph, starts right at 50mph where it vibrates/shudders worst then as it works up above 60 it starts to go away

hold on I only have two U joints on my drive shaft so there isnt a carrier bearing? also when I pulled out the driveshaft it came out splined like on the powerstroke if that makes a difference but theres only 2 u joints, I also couldnt see inside where it splines to look for the carrier bearing is there one? I've started to think about motor mounts and transmission mounts that could be bad what could symptoms of those be? I looked at the transmission mount and it looks to be fine

When you removed the rear drive shaft to replace the u-joints did you check for play in the yoke at the rear diff while the drive shaft was off? There should be no play, up and down or in and out. If there is, then you are talking about repairing the rear diff which I have had no experience at myself so I can't help you. But I know some members know all about the rear diff. You may be able to change a bearing right on the truck but I don't know. Someone will be able to help you. You might be able to remove the seal and change the outer bearing right on the truck. But I believe there is a crush sleve inside that you have to worry about. Someone pleas help out here as I have not done this before.

Sorry about confusing the issue by thinking hangar bearing (picture with 2 piece drive shaft) when you did say carrier bearing.

ok upate, here is something for you guys to work with now, lifted both front tires off ground did both test with steering wheel locked and unlocked, hands on 12 and 6 oclock no play or noise hands on 9 and 3 o clock and there is the smallest clunking noise did the test on both tires, tried looking under at the rod ends and drag but couldnt get a good eye in there while trying to make it clank, what does this sound like to you? wheel bearings? rod ends? ball joints I think are only if it clanks while doing the 12 and 6 o clock test?

Just read through your post and man are we in the same boat or what. My vibration hits right at 50 and goes mostly away at 60. at about 55 it is terrible. My problem lies in the yoke of the diff i believe. Have you had the driveshaft spun and balanced? Is yours a straight piece of pipe or two piece? I am going to try to remove the yoke, slip a new one on, replace the seal and see if that helps.

mine is just the single, 2 joint driveline, I'm so pissed off I've spent so much money the shake is worst at 50mph goes away at 60 and also can feel a small vibration while working up to the 50 mph, I just pulled the abs fuse to see if the system was screwing around at the speed and its fine, also drove with the OD off at that speed and also no difference, the ride can be a bit bouncy but I don't think the shocks can make the steerng wheel vibrate

Yeah i have even tried balancing the shaft by trial and error. Nothing helped. I am going to replace the yoke to see if that fixes the issue. However, i do not see anywhere that shows a single pipe driveshaft for our type trucks. Mine is a rigged up deal so no expectations there. I found one at a jy so i will be getting it this weekend to see if it helps. Friggin vibration is going to shake my truck loose.

Almost any of the regular cab pickups can be a single piece driveshaft, I know my F350 dually is single. I'd have to peek under the others, but pretty sure the only 2 piece rear shaft I have with a hangar bearing is the crew cab.
