If you decide to remove the front clip it's pretty easy. First remove the hood then the bolts that hold the front clip on. Without the radiator the clip is fairly light. I've moved them around by myself but it really helps to have a second pair of hands especially to get it over the front wheels. I've taken them off myself but I did a lot of dropping and stumbling around doing it. It's not easy but when you don't have any help you got to do what you got to do.

This is terrific, everybody had really good ideas. It all helps me come up with a plan. I think I'll go with some kind of hand-off from the hoist to the tractor. Maybe even mount the engine to the stand and then pick up both with the tractor and set it in the garage. I won't have to go with expensive 10" air filled casters either. The only other thing I'm playing with is pulling the engine out the front. It keeps me from having to pull the hood and then getting it back on straight. I'll keep the engine low so I'm less likely to tip it. The radiator has to be pulled to protect it so all I have to pull is the grill, a piece of sheet metal and the brush guard. Am I missing anything? My military truck's shop manual has me pulling that engine out the front so I can't claim the idea as mine, but I sure like keeping the engine from being over my head. It wouldn't take much for it to go over hurting the engine, me, the hoist and maybe the truck. Thanks guys.

Bob, I didn't realize the front clip was that light . If I tried this I might even be able to use the tractor and boom to help me lift it. It's a very interesting idea. Did you do just unbolt it, disconnect the heater, remove the batter tray and disconnect the lights? Was there anything else that needs to be done? I've never done this before and I'm getting great idea after great idea. After all these ideas, not only should I have a good plan, I'll have a good plan B too. Thanks.
