The short answer is it probably won't. And some newer GM engines won't run without the correct dash components hooked to the computer. You might be in for some fun with that. But your stock 6V gauges will require the use of the stock, matched 6V sender units to read accurately.
yep, new gauges will be required.. 12V, negative ground, or mechanical.. (oil pressure seems most often mechanical)..
I don't think you will have any dash dependancies with the harness companies I posted for you.. but all this other mix match is the 'fun' part of the dark side conversions..
Well thanks for the advise guy !! The previous owner bought brand new gauges and it doesn't sound like there going to work which sucks cause there good looking gauges .. Well once again thanks guys !!
Not to much will be stock on the interior but it's just something I'll have to deal with . Still hasn't dampened my spirit though ! Thanks again guys !
still not sure what you said before.. are the gauges you are trying to connect (new from the previous owner, aka PO) stock gauges?

Sorry didn't realize that question was for me . There brand new dolphin gauges . Speedo, tach, fuel level, oil pressure, water temp, and battery . Very nice gauges but still need to do some research to confirm usage .
Ok.. Dolphin, not the stock gauges.. you should be able to use those no problem..
electric or mechanical senders? electric would be easier of course.. I see you said mechanical up front..
oil is ok.. temp just need the right thing in the manifold.. gas gauge is electric anyhow.. (resistance to ground)
alternator is just one wire, so you should be good to go..
