This past weekend I installed a Prodigy P2 brake controller on my '04 Explorer (w/factory tow package) plug-n-play... very easy install. Ok, here's my question... what is a "normal" power setting for a brake controller? The directions said to set the unit until the brakes on the trailer lock-up then back-off a bit. My brakes never lockup. When I manually control the brakes from the controller I can feel the brakes coming on strong but never lockup. I set the controller to 12. and no lockup. Is this normal or do I need to check my brakes for wear (Bought the trailer and had it inspected last October)? The trailer is a '01 Coleman Popup Utah (est. 2800lbs.) Thanks for your help.
