Question Rear Hatch Lock

Alrighty, here is a really dumb question... Is it possible for the rear hatch to unlock when the doors are locked?? I swear that is what mine is doing! It's like they are out of sync...

Any feedback would be awesome!

hmm...now are you positive the rear locks when the others are unlocked? If that's what you're saying then I have no clue...however, if the rear hatch is constantly unlocked then you have a bad actuator. It's one of the first things I had to fix when I bought my X a couple months ago

When you lock the doors go to the back and check the rear one. It might just not be locking for ya and is a common issue. Also check if you can lock it with the key in the cylinder. Most likely all gummed up and not locking. You will need to take off the inside plastic trim on the glass top door and lube all the mechanisms. The area is open to the dust and elements so it doesn't take long for things to gum up in there. You might be able to save the lock or even fix/replace the actuator.

There are no dumb questions and especially really dumb ones. Maybe a lever is hooked up backwards by a previous owner. I would tear into it and take a look.

Mine unlocks with the key fob, but it won't lock. Every time I unlock and then lock the doors, I have to manually lock the hatch. It's a common problem that I'm assuming you're running into as well.

The rear hatch seals like crap most of the time, allowing debris and junk to get in there. My actuator was perfectly fine, just clogged with sand and dirt. I pulled it, cleaned it, put it back in, and it worked wonderfully. This is after freeing the locking cylinder though, mine was a bit of a pain, only because my hands are huge and I had to pull everything out to clean it properly. Took about an hour or so to do.
