i seens allot of "book smart" mechanics not know what the heck they are doing, and seen some "backyard mechanics" know a heck of allot!
I have never understood the paper craze, You can get a ASE Certification off the internet and you don't even need to know what end of a screwdriver to use!
you can? hmm never knew that. i applied to lincoln college of technology down in denver CO. they had a 70 point scholarship quiz. and i got 67 out of 70.
the guy came to the job corps i was at, at the time. and put on this little slide show in the diesel shop. and i got 15 out of 15 on this little quiz he had about car parts. like an O2 sensor transmission filter kit. that kind of stuff. 15 seconds to guess what it was and me and my buddy kevin were the only 2 he's ever had get all 15 right lol.

Highway 20 in Oregon going east into Sisters is steep and really crooked to go with it.

I picked up my '94 from over in that area, in Elgin.
You don't really even notice it unless you're towing OR the weather is really bad.
That's the ONLY place I've ever had the parafin freeze up in #1 diesel. It plugged up in the line in my Dodge.
I almost had it happen elk hunting one time also. It ran really crummy but it never quit entirely that time.
lol yeah she gets pretty cold in the winter. those rounded hills get pretty steep towards the bottom lol a kubota RTV almost diddnt make it back out of a hole i got in to go fishing lol
That freeze-up wasn't the trip when I picked-up the Ford. On that trip I drove my Cherokee through the "scenic route" and then towed the Cherokee home with the Ford, That trip was on April 25, 2008 and there were still 6-8 foot snow drifts in the trees/shaded areas.
yeah they can be fun lol when you're in a white out doin like 10-15 mph and hit one thats 4 foot tall in the road. hard as a damn rock makes ya suctioncup the seat a little bit
