Question Cooper Tires

Was wondering if anyone here has any experience with Cooper tires? I've been out doing some pricing, and even though I've always put Michelin tires back on after the factory tires are worn out, I just don't have the $$$ right now to go back with them. I've heard some good things around here about Coopers, but not from actual owners!! I've priced the Discoverer H/T and it is a good looking tire. I'm mostly going to be driving highway miles, but some off road use during deer season( Mud and a little snow)! Reviews appreciated

I just bought a set of Discoverer HT plus Coopers and so far they have been great wet and dry. They are 275/55/20. They are smooth riding at all speeds and as I said before great traction wet or dry. I think the whole set mounted and balanced was like $398, this was at Kauffman tire and that weekend they were running a sale for $100 off a set of 4 over $300. The only downside is there is no mileage warranty but kauffman has a great replacement warranty that comes with the tire in case of roa hazard.

For the money, you can't go wrong. I've not had the H/T's but I did have the ATR's. Decent all around tire. I run E range 275/70-18's on my 07. I was very pleased with the ATR's performance in the snow.

My ATR's developed bad wear patterns because I wasn't diligent with rotating. So they got very noisy, but that's my fault.

I'm sure you'll be happy with Coopers, especially since you're going to save a good chunk of change on the tires.

Thanks!! The size I run are also 275/55/20. My 2008 supercab came with Pirelli Str on it, and they were almost useless in the mud and snow, but they were quiet. Around here, The Cooper H/T's are $136.00 a piece. I know they won't give the ride or wear the Michelin's do, but right now, $$$ are more important than ride, if you know what I mean!! I just wasn't very familiar with Cooper Tires!

cooper is a very good tire. the atr is ok but if you can find the at in your size ****** it up. is was a better tire/ tread pattern but they replaced it with the atr. also the stt is good in the mud/snow in my opinion

I am also a die hard Michelin guy but the $$$ were a bit much for me also. I love the way they ride. They are damn smooth like Michelin's but I doubt I will get the mileage out of them that I got from Michelin's.

Cooper Tires

I've been running Cooper tires on my 97 for about 10 years. It's a 4x2 and I've not have any problems at all until about a month ago when the wife ran over something that fell off another truck on the highway - destroyed the tire and bent the rim but you can't blame that on Cooper.

Had a new set of Cooper H/T Plus put on this afternoon and I have to say that even though I was skeptical about the claim that they ride as good as Michelins, I'm a believer now!!! They are pretty dang close, and quiet too!! Thanks guys for your input!! It helped me decide and also saved me a bunch of $$$! The tires ended up costing around a $112.00 a piece, a far cry from the $246 a piece for Michelins!! I'm satisfied!!

Coopers AT tires in the early 90's had a rash of belt separations but it sounds like they fixed it. I have run Pro-Comp MTs, made by Cooper with no issues, good tires.

I run discoverer HT +'s on my 150. 305/50/20's. They've got excellent wear and no noise. They look really good with the ridged outer band turned out.
