hard shift into reverse
Would someone please be kind enough to help me do a basic diagnosis of my C6. When it comes to AT's, I am fairly clueless. The problem my tranny seems to have is that it shifts very hard into reverse, but shifts flawlessly into the forward gears.
Could it possibly have something to do with the driveshaft or rearend. Maybe the backlash not being correct. Any help with this will be greatly appreciatted. Thank you.
PS. I have a 65 f100 with a 390

hard shift into reverse
If it does then it is probably an A4LD with a leaking low/reverse servo O ring. They changed from an O ring to a custom double lip seal. Go to www.atcdg.com and click on tech. Scan down to A4LD. A job you can easily do in 20 minutes as easy to do as changing a tranny filter. I wrote a post with the procedure here. Can't tell you a thing about a C6.
