Question advancing the cam???

What kind of benifits do you get with an after market timming set, by being able to advance the cam timming? And how much advanced? Does it change on difrent cams or is it a universal impruvement?

Would apreciate any input.

advancing the cam???

You would be able to set the cam timing at 0 degree's advanced, or "straight up".

This will help lower the engines power band into a more usable rpm range, and help the engines performance.

You should never set it more than 0 degree's advanced unless the cam manufacturer states so. You can install aftermarket sets on stock cams.

advancing the cam???

Advancing 4 deg will shift the power range about 300RPM lower.

Arrow advancing the cam???

Not sure what kind of cam you are planning on advancing swm, but look at your cam card, if you are using a new cam and your cam may already have a certain amount of advance machined in from the factory. Put your chain in straight up and you may already have certain amount of degrees "advanced" due to cam manufactuer. Good Luck!
