cruise control - speed control amplifier

Does anybody know where the speed control amplifier is located on or in the 1988 F250 Lariat. It is for the cruise control. I need to find it in order to test it. I am trying to get my cruise control to work. It has never worked since I had the truck. I have a picture of what it should look like and it's location(under left side of instrument panel) from All data, but this could be in reference to another model or year. I have looked for it several times and can't find it

In my 86 trucks its located at the bottom edge of the dash to the right of the steering column, but I don't know if 87 and newer kept that location. I've never had or heard of one going bad however. I would sooner check your VSS at the transmission, fuses, and verify that the servo throttle cable is not snapped.

What does it look like? I see a black box about 3 inches by 3 inches. This is supposed to be part of the test procedure.

Thank you very much!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your pictures. I would not have known. It is about a hundred degrees right now. Later this evening I will go out and check to see if mine is the same. I will also take heed to the other information you sent. Again, thank you very much!!
