Air conditioning -HELP

1996 F-250.. Truck had been down for months. I replaced IDM and is now running. Now my air conditioning is not working. Blowing warm air. It sounds like it's switching over. And when I cut the motor there is water running out under the truck like it would if it working. It was working great last summer. It's 95 here, I need air...

Is the compressor clutch engauged when the ac is running? The system may need recharging, but with water dripping under the truck is sounds like it is trying to work. Check the blend door in the heater box, it may be stuck.

take a look under the hood. this vac line breaks all the time and allows hot air from outside in.

I have an F250 Supercab, longbed and I've been having problems with my air too. Blows cold and then warm. I looked under the hood and sure enough that vac line is broken. Can I replace that with any old rubber vac line or is that something special from Ford?

That same thing happened to me also. But, mine would blow air out of the defrost vents.

Hopefully 2 isn't too much .. Most older air conditioning systems leak a little , & the lower the pressure sometimes the more they leak due to the type of fittings . Did the freon can have a gauge on it ?

Yes, it did have the gauge on it.. One didn't bring it up enough. The compressor would kick on and off. The pressure is between 45 and 50.. I checked couple hours after filling seems to be the same.
