Slow Window Fix

I have both a 2000 f350 and 2002 ex and both driver side windows have gotten very slow and stop in auto mode. Anyone have experience on how to fix this. Thought I'd check here before pulling door panels.

I know on Hondas I have had that over time the Auto function will stop remembering the setting and to reset the Auto switch, you would disconnect/reconnect the battery then turn on the key, depress the Auto down button and hold it until the window is all the way down, release the button and it would be reset. Could work on a Ford.

I used about 1/2 of a can of silicone spray lube on my window tracks and now mine work like new.

Well lubing the track/motor up could help, however, seems like the times this happened to me, my motor finally ended up going out. I have noticed too, that the earlier years 99-01 seemed to have more window motor issues than later too....or atleast I saw this with buddies and myself.

On many vehicles, the problem lies not with the motor or switches, but with the window channel. When the flocking is worn off by the glass sliding up and down, the glass versus rubber friction is so high that the window doesn't slide up and down smoothly or easily. Consider replacing the rubber glass channel if it looks roached out.

Looks pretty simple, drop the window down, remove the two bolts holding the window in place, remove the two window insulators from the horizontal top open edge, then remove the two bolts holding in the window channel, remove the glass out the top and clean, replace with new window channel and install in reverse order.
