305 is about as wide as I would go, and those were probably E rated so that helps, along with proper tire pressure. It also depends on what stock wheels you have, some are 8" wide and would be okay, some are 7" wide.
Yes they are E rated, I wouldn't put myself or family in danger as I haul real heavy sometimes. I keep the tire pressure at 60psi in front and 65psi in rear. I have 18in stock wheels that I think they're 8in wheel. Not sure though. This is my 3rd set of BFG's on a different truck. Overall great tire would take alot to get me try another.
I have new Goodyear Duratracs on my F350 and have noticed that my truck feels like I'm driving on "underinflated" tires. Truck is almost scary at 70 mph on the freeway and worse on curves. A lot of swaying and movement from side to side.
Your tire has 18/32 of tread which is more than just about any other tire on the market- What you are probably experiencing is known as tread "squirm" which will decrease over time as the tread wears. The question: Do the off-road and winter capabilities of the tire outweigh the negative handling characteristics? If they don't, then I'd recommend taking the dealer up on the replacement offer.
FWIW I gave up trying to find the perfect all-season tire and have 2 separate sets (Summer & Winter) for each of my vehicles.

I have had an alignment done, new tie rod and ball joints. Last tires were BF Goodrich and handled much better.
Was going to pull the trigger this week and order a set of DuraTracs based looks and a review in Off-Road ( ? ) magazine mounted on a F250. After reading all the reviews on TireRack and Discount Tire, started looking elsewhere. Right now it's looking like Coopers or Hankooks.
Tire pressure was correct on the Duratracs. My tire rep said they would switch me over to the Nitto's which was what I had previously. Some of the reviews on the Duratrac are not too good. Rumor is that Goodyear may do a recall if there are enough problems reported.
